About Us

Advanced Technology

We keep the office equipped in state of the art technology with our CEREC restorations, laser therapy, digital imaging, DIAGNOdent laser early cavity detection, Air Abrasion for drill-less, injection-free dentistry and our CAESY Patient Education Center.

CEREC

CEREC is advanced technology allowing your porcelain restoration to be made in our office laboratory while you are still in the chair – you will leave that day with the final restoration, not a temporary!

Patient comfort is of utmost importance and CEREC has made it even easier for us to ensure patient comfort in our office. Most crowns can be done in one visit. This forgoes another trip for the patient and the use of anesthetic on a second visit, saving our patients time as well as eliminating the fear of pain. Our hygienist has also noticed an obvious difference in the gum tissue around the restorations. Now that we are able to place the crowns the same day, the gum tissue settles and heals around the final restoration instead of around the temporary which would have been worn for one to two weeks. CEREC restorations adapt perfectly, causing little to no gum irritation around the new restoration.

Laser

The Odyssey Laser is the most sophisticated, precise, and minimally invasive technology tool in dentistry. The leading-edge technology of the Odyssey Laser is just one more way that we are making your visits more comfortable while increasing the level of high-quality dental care we provide to you! We have had the Odyssey Laser in our office for several years and have seen it perform miracles for patients in improving their oral health.

No other instrument available has its precise tissue sculpting ability for expert gum contouring. The laser is the least traumatic to soft tissue of all other lasers, which means less bleeding and less post-operative pain and less healing time.

Some procedures the Odyssey Laser can be used for include:
  • Laser soft tissue debridement
  • Treating canker sores in your mouth
  • Clean, clear margins for better fitting same visit crowns and onlays
  • Clinical crown lengthening/gingivectomy
  • Orthodontic tissue control
  • Implant access
  • Tissue removal/biopsies
  • CAESY

We are proud to announce that we can now offer our patients access to CAESY Education Systems. You can enjoy an extensive computer library of informative visuals about your home care routine, periodontal care, cosmetic dentistry, whitening, implants, and many other dental topics! If there is a dental procedure you would like to learn more about, we would be happy to play a 1-2 minute computerized video on the topic. The kids also love to watch Kirby the Chimp talk about the importance of keeping their teeth clean, to preparing for the tooth fairy. We believe educated patients are able to make the smartest decisions regarding their important dental health.

    DIAGNOdent

The DIAGNOdent is a revolutionary dental laser tool we utilize in the office It safely and effectively detects changes that may not yet be visible on a cavity detecting x-ray, or even below the tooth surface! A small, painless laser light source is placed on the affected tooth surface. A signal is sent back to a control unit which allows us to help detect if there is any decay present. The DIAGNOdent allows us to quickly catch what could later become a much bigger problem.

    Air Abrasion

Drill-less dentistry? We can do it! For shallower cavities, we have the ability to remove the active decay without the use of any drills! Air Abrasion works like a tiny sandblaster. Compressed air and an abrasive powder work together to remove active decay off your tooth, and then the area is sealed with a tooth-colored filling material. In most case, there is no need for any local injections of anesthetic!

    Digital Imaging

Meyer Dental Group introduced digital x-rays to the office in 2006. Patient benefits are always our #1 priority, and bringing in this advanced technology reduces patient radiation exposure up to 80% over traditional x-rays. Digital imaging also offers better diagnostic quality, as well as the ability to adjust the color and clarity of the x-ray taken. The patient can better see the area in question, which in turn enables a better understanding of the necessary treatment. The sensor for the digital x-rays tend to be more comfortable, and the exposure time is close to instantaneous, leaving little to no wait time to have the final image available for evaluation.

    Smile-Vision

Have you ever wondered how YOU would look if your smile was transformed? We can take a portrait of you and send it out to our cosmetic laboratory to customize your ideal smile. If you have a dental appointment coming up, just mention your interest in getting a complimentary “Smile-Vision” photo, and we will be sure to allow some extra time at your appointment. If you don’t have an appointment in the near future, just call the office and we would be happy to schedule one for you at your earliest convenience.
